Kolkata – Gangtok – Kalimpong – Darjeeling – Mirik – Nepal (Pashupati Nath Gate)
Itinerary:
Day 01: KOLKATA
Arrival at Kolkata railway station/Airport in Lunch. Way to hotel via coach. Check in hotel, After lunch, we’ll visit Victoria memorial. Dinner & overnight stay in hotel.
Day02: KOLKATA
Morning take B/fast, then proceed for Howrha Bridge, Dakshineswar Kali Temple. Then free for leisure time in Park Street. Evening depart for railway station to board train for New Jalpaiguri at 1735hrs. Overnight travel by train.
Day 03: GANGTOK LOCAL SIGHTSEEING
We’ll arrive at New Jalpaiguri Railway Station by 0600am. Transfer to coach and depart for Gangtok (115 Kms / 4 hrs.). hotel check-in at Gangtok. After lunch, we’ll visit Gangtok – the capital and largest town of the Indian state of Sikkim. Gangtok is located in the eastern Himalayan range, at an altitude of 5,800 feet (1,800 m). The town's population of 98,658 belongs to different ethnicity. Rest of the day free for own activities, shopping etc. Dinner and overnight stay at the Gangtok hotel.
Day 04: GANGTOK( CHANGU LAKE)
Trip to Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir (43 KM / 1 HRS). After breakfast, proceeds for a full day excursion to Tsomgo Lake or Changu Lake – Glacial lake in the East Sikkim, India, some 40 kilometers (25 mi) away from Gangtok at altitude of 3,780 m (12,400 ft) and Baba Mandir – The shrine maid in memory of Sepoy Harbahajan Singh. Evening Back to Hotel. Overnight stay in Gangtok.
Day 05: Gangtok-Kalimpong (74 KM / 3 HRS)
After breakfast proceed for a half day sightseeing covering Jhakri Water Falls, Ranka Monastery, Research Institute of Tibetology (Closed on Sunday & govt. Holidays), Do-Drul Chorten, Directorate of Handicrafts & Handloom (Closed on Sunday & Govt. Holidays), Flower Show. Enroute we’ll visit Kalimpong sightseeing: Deolo Hills, Mangal Dham- Dedicated to Lord Krishna, Lord Buddha Statue. Check into to hotel in evening. Evening free for own activities. Overnight stay in Kalimpong.
Day 06: Kalimpong-Darjeeling (50 KM / 2 ½ HRS)
After breakfast proceed for a half day sightseeing of Kalimpong. Sightseeing includes: Nature Interpretation Center, Army Golf Course, Durpin Monastery. Then depart for Darjeeling. Darjeeling is one of the most magnificent hill resorts in the world. It is noted for its Tea industry and the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Check into to hotel in evening. Evening free for own activities. Overnight stay in Darjeeling.
Day 07: DARJEELING-Local
Early Morning visit Tiger Hill, famous for sunrise over Mt. Kanchendzonga, on way back visit Ghoom Monastery, Batasia Loop and back to hotel. After breakfast, proceed for a sightseeing of Darjeeling which includes 7 points, covering The Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, PNZ Zoological Park (closed on Thursday) Tenzing Rock, Tibetans Refuge Centre (closed on Sunday), Tea Garden (outer-view), Lloyd’s Botanical Garden, Rope way (Only view point). Evening back to the hotel. Overnight stay in Darjeeling.
Day 08: Day Trip to Mirik (59 KM. / 1 HRS 30 MIN.)
After breakfast proceed for a full day excursion to Sumendu Lake (Known as Mirik Lake). Mirik has become a popular tourist destination for its climate, natural beauty and easy accessibility. The centre of all attraction is the Sumendu Lake, surrounded by a garden on one side and pine trees on the other and linked together by an arching footbridge called Indreni Pull (Rainbow Bridge). A 3.5-km-long road encircles the lake and is used for walks with the view of Kangchenjunga on the far horizon. Boating on the quaint shikara and pony riding are available, on the way back visit Pashupati Gate – The entrance point of Nepal, famous for shopping of cosmetics, woolens, accessories, etc.. Evening Transfer to New Jalpaiguri Station/Bagdogra Airport.
